A city which is rich in both culture and literature, a city where poets like Mir Taqi Mir spent their creative years,the city of Nawabs. The city is all set to celebrate its literature once again. Yes, you got it right, Its the Lucknow Literary Festival’s Fifth edition this year which is ready to roll down this weekend i.e, from 10 November to 12 November at Sheroes Hangout Cafe near Taj Hotel ,Gomtinagar .The festival is brought up by Lucknow Society (A Non-governmental Organisation), began with the efforts of Shamim A. Aarzoo, With the aim of promoting and conserving the unique and age-old literary and cultural history of Lucknow, the festival has been a channel of taking the legacy of Lucknow back to the younger generation. The Lucknow Literary Festival is the only lit fest in India organised solely by the youth and is among the top 6 lit fests of the country as per the Outlook Traveller list 2015. In the past five years the Lucknow Literary Festival has been attended by likes of Pt. Birju Maharaj, Padma Shri Bekal Utsahi, Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Vinod Mehta, Ravinder Singh and many others.
Talking about the theme of the festival, Aarzoo said that this time Lucknow Literary Festival is dedicated to the Acid Attack Survivors which is furthermore based on the theme “We, Literature and Politics”.
Sessions dedicate to Acid attack survivors:
•The three day long scholarly celebration would have different book exchanges by conspicuous identities.
•Theme of the festival will be dedicated to the acid attack survivors and sessions dedicated to
them will take place in the three day event.
• A few of the personalities that will be a part of the festival will be Divya Dutta, for a discussion
on her book “Me and Maa”,
• Kanhaiya Kumar will be discussing on his book ” Bihar to Tihar”, Shatrughan Sinha with his
biography’s author Bharathi Pradhan discussing on book “Anything but Khammosh” which will
be moderated by Prakash Pandey.
• Nandita Pandey on a session on Taratology, Abhisar Sharma discussing on his latest book, Ravi
Kishan discussing contribution of Bhojpuri in literature and Cinema,
• Asaduddin Owaisi, Sampat Sarai, Mridula Garg, Meer ka Lucknow and many more.
• The Festival will maintain a unanimity among different aspects of society and give its audience a
fair chance to be a part of sessions belonging to Bollywood sectors as well.
• Lyricists, Screenwritter, Director, Producer and Writer, Sandeep Nath in a session on Cinema,
Literarture society.
• Another session with a renowned youth Politician and Literature, with panelist Jayant Chaudharu , Suneel
Singh Sajan and Aditi Singh will be conducted.
• In addition, a session on social media with Panelist from GarbageBin, TheLogicalIndian,
Nazarbattu, Ankit Lal (Social Media head AAp, And writer of book – “India Social”)) will take
place.
• A session on sports with panelist Arun Pandey (producer of MS Dhoni – Untold Story) with R.P
Singh & Suresh Raina.
A few more people will be a part of the festival who are, Jyotiradtiya, Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh,
Vinod Dua, Alika Dua. The Wajid Ali Shah Award will be awarded to Anup Jalota and Pride of Lucknow Award will be
awarded to Naresh Saxena and Neelansh Mishra.
