After Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha made waves at the box-office in August 2017, his wife Twinkle Khanna’s tweet about public defecation on Juhu beach, Mumbai created a stir. She wrote, “Good morning and I guess here is the first scene of Toilet Ek Prem Katha part 2 #WhenYourWalkGoesDownTheToilet.”

Twinkle was trolled for being insensitive to all those who don’t have the access to toilets in their homes.
Now, Akshay has come to the rescue. According to the report in a leading daily, the BMC on Monday said while the toilets funded by Akshay will partly solve the problem, three or four more such toilets will have to be installed to make Juhu and Versova beaches free from open defecation.
Akshay has teamed up with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray for installing the toilets and have spent reportedly around Rs 10 lakh. The toilet has six seats, three each for men and women, and a separate row of urinals.
“The toilets have bio-digester so there will be no stink. The toilets will bring a lot of relief to not just the local slum dwellers, but also to visitors,” said Assistant Municipal Commissioner, K-West ward, Prashant Gaikwad.
On the work front, Akshay will be next seen in the film Gold.
The first teaser for the film was released this year and has impressed everyone.
Directed by Reema Kagti, the film is based on India’s first Olympic medal win in hockey after India became independent.
