In October 2018, Lucknow saw the historic and pivotal inauguration of ” Sewage Point to Selfie Point “, a innovative, simple and effective Bio-remediation Sewerage Geotube Treatment System at Kukrail Nallah ,Lucknow by the Chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Union minister for river development and Ganga rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari.

The “Sewage Point To Selfie Point” campaign is being run by Swami Chidanand Saraswati via his Parmarth Niketan Ashram (PNA) on the banks of the Ganga at Hardwar.
Swami Chidananad in October 2018 staged a live demonstration of the “Sewage Point To Selfie Point” campaign at Kukrail nullah in the presence of the CM, Gadkari, UP’s urban development minister Suresh Khanna and chief secretary Anup Chandra Pandey.
The PNA group demonstrated how the untreated and sullied sewage water falling into Gomati river could be cleaned with his geotube innovation and the blackish sewage water is transformed into consumable water inside a couple of hours in form of “Sewage Point To Selfie Point” campaign
The untreated sewage water is passed through a treatment plant where the chemicals coagulate the solid from the liquid wastewater. Then the water is pumped through large geo tube membranes that further trap the solid wastes and sludge treating the water to around 90%.
In the Trial mode, chemicals are being used to treat the grey water , but soon by using Neem tree extracts of which would make it more effective in cleaning the untreated water and make it fitter for even drinking.
CM Yogi was highly impressed with the geo tube technology used in the “Sewage Point To Selfie Point” campaign. He ordered a pilot project immediately in prime minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi, but also asked the urban development authorities to implement it in Allahabad and Kanpur to treat sewage water falling in the Ganga to ensure a pure and transparent water in the holy river during 2019 Kumbh.
After nearly two months of trial run, Team UttarPradesh.org reached again to the ” From Sewage Point to Selfie Point in Lucknow ” .
