अमेठी लोकसभा सीट ( Amethi Lok Sabha ) में ज्यादाबार कांग्रेस का दबदबा रहा है। इंदिरा गांधी से लेकर अब राहुल गांधी तक अमेठी वासियों ने अन्य दल की जगह कांग्रेस पर ज्यादा भरोसा जताया है। स्वतंत्र भारत में पहली बार 1952 में लोकसभा चुनाव का गठन हुआ। हालांकि, उस वक्त अमेठी सुल्तानपुर दक्षिण लोकसभा सीट का ही हिस्सा माना जाता था, जहां से कांग्रेस बालकृष्ण विश्वनाथ केशकर सांसद बने थे। 1957 में यह क्षेत्र मुसाफिरखाना लोकसभा सीट का हिस्सा बना और केशकर तब भी यहां के सांसद बने रहे।
