JSHRC panel site hacked again 

The website of Jharkhand’s rights panel was hacked again. The hackers defaced the website with messages such as “stop killing innocent Muslims”. This incident happened for the second time within 10 months, exposing its weakness.

Website hacked by group of hakers

• The site of the Jharkhand State Human Rights Commission (JSHRC) was hacked by a hacker group in July.
• The hacker group was codenamed ‘Mr H1DD3N’.
• Most note worthy fact of this hacking is that nobody noticed it until Thursday.
• The homepage of the site displays : “India Hello Modi….stop killing innocent Muslims.”
• It continues with “stop killing beef eaters, stop torturing Muslim women, stop arresting Muslim boys from college. We are human being,equal and are Islamic Cyber (sic).”
• Furthermore the hacker posted, “Sorry for my actions. This is just a lesson for you to make your website more secure.”
• The hacker demands the authority to fix the loopholes in the website’s securidy as soon as possible.
• The hacker also claims not be destroyer but a slit seeker. He even warns the system to be careful from the very moment.
• The same website was compromised in September last year.
• According to Founder of National Anti-hacking Group Vineet Kumar, two to three hackers were involved. In addition he told that they used proxy server for trespassing.

Website not developed by IT department

• As per Kumar, the programmers’ area is known as Japan.
• Consecuently which could be changed through diverting the proxy server routeof their origin.
• He said even other government sites in the state are defenseless against hacking.
• State IT executive UP Shah, naming the rupture a “major issue,” said they would explore the lapse.
• He further added that the state’s IT department did not develop the site.
• According to him, the JSHRC is an autonomous body.
• JSHRC secretary Bhagwan Das said the site has been blocked.
• According to Das, Ranchi Police was informed about hacking of site. The police was also asked to lodge an FIR against unidentified persons.
• National Informatics Centre’s officer Sahid Ahmed demanded a security audit for the website by authorised government agencies.
• “There may be lapses in application development or data hosting centre that allows the hacker to enter into it. It can deface all the information uploaded on it.” He said in conclusion.
• Jharkhand has as of late seen arrangement of swarm lynching that focused for the most part Muslims.
• Two Muslim men were lynched on charges of carrying beef in June. In addition to which four others were killed by a mob in Saraikela-Kharswan district suspecting them as child traffickers.
