After B-town actresses like Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra have turned to production, it seems Deepika Padukone to step into their shoes and turn a producer. For the unversed, Priyanka owns Purple Pebbles production banner while Anushka has produced three successful films — NH10, Phillauri and Pari — under her home production banner by the name Clean Slate Films.

Deepika had earlier opened up in an interview about her desire to venture into production sooner or later.
She had said, “I want to venture into production and be a producer or line producer someday because I feel I have that kind of personality. I like to organize, put things together and make things happen. I don’t want to be a producer because I want to make money.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika was appreciated by the audience and critics alike for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. She was scheduled to feature alongside Irrfan Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film but considering the actor’s ill-health, the film has reportedly been postponed.
