Newly Wed Angad Bedi is all set to play the role of “Bikramjeet Singh” in forthcoming sports biopic titled Soorma, unveils his character first look motion poster.
Angad Bedi shared the motion poster on his social media profile.
He wrote, “Meet the reel life #BikramjeetSingh…the mans got a heart of gold…thank you @sonypicsprodns @IChitrangda @SnehaRajani n @shaadesh for believing in me… #soorma releases on 13th July”
Directed by Shaad Ali, the movie also stars Diljit Dosanjh, Chitrangda Singh, Taapsee Pannu and is an Indian biographical film based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh.
Sandeep Singh is an ace hockey player and an ex-captain of the Indian National Team.
While the film isn’t a biopic, it explores an important chapter of Sandeep’s life which would be portrayed.
Soorma is a biopic made on Sandeep Singh who is a hockey legend and the ex-Captain of the Indian National Hockey Team.
Sandeep, regarded as one of the world’s most dangerous drag-flickers, has given many a golden moment to Indian hockey.
The makers of the film are all ready to bring his story to the big screen which would be yet another story of an underdog.
Sandeep’s story is so inspirational that a Bollywood biopic is being made named Soorma on his life where his role is portrayed by actor/singer Diljit Dosanjh.
Sandeep is regarded as the most dangerous drag-flickers of all time with drag speeds of over 145 km/hr which led to his nickname, ‘Flicker Singh’.
Apparently, the film will be a love story of two hockey players and their relationship.
Soorma tells the story of the international hockey player Sandeep Singh, played by Diljit Dosanjh, who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gun-shot injured him in 2006.
Fighting against all odds, Sandeep got back on his feet and made a comeback to international hockey in 2008.
India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup under his captaincy and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
The film is scheduled to release on 13 July 2018.
