Atul Kulkarni turns 53 He has always been selective about his projects

Atul Kulkarni is a talented film actor who was born on 10 September 1965. He has acted in many films with many languages Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and English. He has also been honored with the national award for the best supporting actor for the films ‘Chandni Bar’ and ‘Hey Ram’. Today, this talented actor is celebrating his 53rd Birthday.

Best role as ‘Potya Sawant’:

He started strong with the film ‘Chandani Bar’ all the way back in 2001. And one his best gifts to the world remains the character of ‘Potya Sawant’. Atul Kulkarni was a seamless fit as the mercurial gangster.

The film which gave him stage to really display his acting skills in the midst of some truly gifted actors was Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Khakee’.

Playing the role of a terror suspect Dr Iqbal Ansari, Kulkarni spoke volumes with his eyes in scenes featuring the charisma of the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn.

As above their are many character which were played by him are still in everyone’s thought. Whether it is Hindu right-wing activist Laxman Pandey in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Rang De Basanti or  Playing a simple man ‘Gobar’ in Dilli 6.

Since the turn of 2010, Kulkarni has been selective about his projects doing the odd, mediocre Bollywood film like Raees or The Ghazi Attack.

Worked in the web series:

As it usually happens character-actors get sidetracked in the long runs, unless they’re willing to repeat themselves.

Kulkarni even tried the web in Nagesh Kukunoor’s Test Case, on Alt Balaji. Sadly, the series didn’t make it.

Theater is unlike any other medium:

Atul Kulkarni A veteran theater persona, famous for his role of ‘Gandhi’ in the critically and commercially acclaimed play ‘Gandhi Viruddh Gandhi’ in December 1995,which gave him 8 Best Actor Awards for the year 1996.

According to him – “Theater is unlike any other medium. It’s all about repeated performances and new beginnings. Each show is a new day. In Marathi, we call a play aprayog, which means an experiment.
Theater is a complete experience. It’s an incredible challenge to sustain one’s intensity and energy for a continuous period of two-three hours. But in theater, you have to hold their attention solely on the basis of performances and pace.”

He is also the president of Quest, a research-action organization concentrating on enhancing quality of education. Well on this special day we all wish his him a great and happiness full Birthday.
