On Thursday, Tigmanshu Dhulia,the director of “Raagdesh” interacted with media in Mumbai. The movie stars Mohit Marwah, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor in lead roles. Rajysabha TV produced “Raagdesh” is releasing on 28 July, 2107.
Censorship is necessary in our country
- During an interview, Tigmanshu stated that censorship is necessary in our country as India is country of different religions.
- He said, “Now days, censor board makes film’s marketing and filmmakers are now spending less money on marketing”.
- In addition, he said that filmmakers create some kind of controversy with most of the films and films are benefited from it
- Furthermore, Tigmanshu says that censorship is necessary in India. India has many communities and religions and unlike other countries of the world we should also have certain kind of censorship.
- For which authorities should decide the parameter of censorship.
Censorship should be unbiased
- Tigmanshu says that censorship shouldn’t be influenced by political ideologies .
- He said he had noticed some big filmmakers able to get their film UA certificate despite questionable content.
- He wants CBFC to be unbiased.
- On being asked about Salman Khan’s refund to distributors,Tigmanshu called it a “really nice act”.
- He said these things used to happen but unfortunately in the middle period people forgot those ethics.
Terrorists have no religion
- Tigmanshu also condemned terrorist attack on Amarnath pilgrims which involved Muslim terror outfit.
- He said, “What should I express, my heart cries seeing all this. It’s a completely shameful and unfortunate act.”
- He says that there are no bigger cowards than them who executed this attack and that they have no religion.
- In addition he said that Islam as religion doesn’t preach such acts but the terrorists have been brainwashed by some wrong people.
- Tigmanshu also talked about current generation of directors.
- He said that who came from outside Mumbai are doing really good work. the current generations of directors have fresh and unique way of storytelling which reflects from their films.
Raagdesh not a typical bollywood film
- Talking about his film Raagdesh, he said, “It’s a different film. Audience is so used to see typical bollywood masala film but Raagdesh not a typical Bollywood film”.
- Tigmanshu also commented on corporate entry into film content producing business.
- In addition of which He said,” They don’t understand cinema and I feel they don’t have love for the film”.
