Dipika Kakar who is ready to make her debut in bollywood with J.P. Dutta directorial film Paltan, was last seen in TV serial Sasural Simar Ka.
In an interview Dipika shared her views on doing supernatural thriller genre in serials or films.
Dipika: Maybe supernatural thriller genre is my strong point
Dipika is currently doing supernatural and horror tv show ‘Qayamat Ki Raat’.
When asked about her appearance in supernatural shows till now she said “So, what? Fine, maybe I excel that. Maybe that is the best I do and viewers, producers and directors they like me doing that the best. So, maybe that is my strong point. It is okay. No harm.”
Most of India’s television series are based on family drama or love.
And when such supernatural thriller serials enter television screens, show get trolled for its content.
On such trolls, Dipika said “You watch Game Of Thrones and does that not come in a feel of fantasy thriller or supernatural. That is also with that feel.
She further added “So, why in India when it is shown… I think a lot of people need to accept the fact that yes, our shows can be good too, try watching it.”
Qayamat Ki Raat
Her show Qayamat ki raat is an Indian Supernatural Drama series which started from 23 June 2018 on Star Plus.
She is playing lead along with Vivek Dahiya and Karishma Tanna in ‘Qayamat Ki Raat’.
She said “Because the quality of Qayamat Ki Raat, it is fantasy thriller, but the quality is believable. You won’t feel that someone is standing with white paint on.”
