Soorma starring Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi is all set to release on 13th July 2018.
Gold of Akshay Kumar which is based on Hockey, is being compared with Soorma and so Diljit with Akshay Kumar.
Both the films are based on Hockey.
Soorma’s Comparison With Gold
Soorma tells the story of the international hockey player Sandeep Singh, played by Diljit who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gunshot injured him in 2006.
The film’s tagline is “The Greatest Comeback Story of the Hockey Legend Sandeep Singh”. Fighting against all odds, Sandeep got back on his feet and made a comeback to international hockey in 2008.
While Gold is a historical sports drama inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal.
The film traces the “golden era” of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager in 1936, who dreams of playing for an independent nation.
Akshay is a superstar: Diljit Dosanjh
In an interview when asked about comparison with Akshay, Diljit said “He is a superstar and his work is appreciated by all. People vouch for his commendable work”.
He added “I, on the other hand, have just started. There can’t be a comparison because he is a star, and I, a fresher.”
When Diljit was asked about his answer to those people who’s sentiments gets hurt after the biopic release, he replied ” Lots of love from my side”
Soorma is all set to release on 13th July 2018, while Gold will hit the screens on 15th August 2018.
