John Abraham and Diana Penty’s Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran has been in the making from a very long time. However, after a lot of delays and some controversies, the film is all set to hit the theatres on May 25.
John Abraham and Diana Penty are here to tell you the story that got buried in the history books
John dropped a couple of posters of the film in the past few weeks and today, the makers finally released the much-awaited teaser, which begins with a voice-over by Boman Irani as he recalls some of the glorious moments in the history of India – from the freedom against the British in 1947 to the world cup win in 1983. However, there is one historical mission that took place in 1998, but it remained buried in the history books and it’s coming to light with Parmanu.
Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran is the story of how India achieved the status of being a nuclear power.
It is based on the 1998 nuclear tests in the city of Pokhran after which India became a nuclear power. While some of you might know about this, there are many, who must have not even read about it and John and Diana are here to tell you the story with their film.

Talking about the film, John had said in a statement, “Much in line with India’s journey to becoming a nuclear power, our film’s journey to its release has also had its own ups and downs! However, it is perhaps a befitting tribute to the true heroes of our nuclear programme — our army and our scientists, that Parmanu is releasing in the same month as we are celebrating 20 years of Operation Shakti – India’s nuclear test explosions in Pokhran in May 1998.”

Parmanu was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on May 4
But due to the tussle between John (JA Entertainment) and Prernaa Arora (KriArj Entertainment), the movie landed in a legal soup. However, the producers buried the hatchet recently and decided to release it on May 25. However, they have two competitors that day as Govinda and Varun Sharma’s Fry Day and Harshvardhan Kapoor’s Bhavesh Joshi Superhero are also set to release on the same day.
