Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who is a Pakistani Musician and has done playback singing in Bollywood and Pakistan Film Industry and belongs to a music family is now in news.
Legal Action Against Rahat?
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is nephew of the legendary Sufi, Qawwali (mainly) singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s daughter admitted that she meant to take a legal action against anyone who will take copyright infringement of his father’s song.
Rahat who was little confused after this statement of his uncle’s daughter said “I’m the successor and the adopted son of my Ustad and Uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Why would I need any permission?

Rahat has sung many songs inspired by his uncle Nurat Fateh Ali Khan which includes – Afreen , Sajna Tere Bina, Mere-Rashke-Qamar and many more.
Rahat is himself is awell known singer in India And Pakistan.
He has given beautiful songs to Bollywood and and is considered among best singers in India.
Rahat told a media house that “We are a family and everything belongs to as”.
He further added that no permissions had been necessary even back when my father Ustad Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan and uncle Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan recited qalams (writings) of my grandfather Ustad Fateh Ali Khan (alongside) other members of our family.
He elaborated that taking legal action has never been the scenario in history and legacy of our family, which has a rich heritage of over 600 years in the field of Qawwali and Sufi music.
Noting that his uncle (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan) was also an integral part of his upbringing.
