But it is the Mecca of several indie film actors and filmmakers.
Though we all wait to see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone at the red carpet, there is one man who has built a legacy at the festival with some impeccable movie releases. We’re talking about Nawazuddin Siddiqui who started out with Gangs of Wasseypur and has since not stopped at anything. Attending the Cannes Film Festival for the 9th time, Nawazuddin will be screening his film Manto this year.

Though he is a regular at the festival now, there is something new about his appearance this year. Nawazuddin has been wearing his old suits for the past years and is finally giving into a make-over by none other than ace designer Manish Malhotra.

Taking about the collaboration with Nawazuddin, Manish Malhotra said:
“I have always respected him as an actor , I think he is fabulous at what he does, also the way he approaches to fashion and style is quite unique and when this was offered to me I immediately agreed to it since it would be really interesting to style an off beat personality like Nawazuddin.”

Taking about his creations for the actor, Manish said:
“Nawaz wanted very classic chic western looks for Cannes this time, he wanted to keep it simple, minimalist and very classy. I have designed three looks for him, a black tuxedo , a checks suit and a another cool blazer look which he plans to wear on the red carpet and one of the screening and interviews, but everything what I am making has a Manish Malhotra world touch to it but keeping Nawaz’s like for classic look in mind also. Well, over the years Nawaz has also changed a lot , there is a certain maturity in his work and and body language , what I have designed, I think will look really chic on him and then he should just be himself, there is no other better way of carrying a look with confidence and charm.”
Here’s waiting to see the ace actor slay at the red carpet this year.
