One of the most versatile and most talented actor, Nawazzuddin Siddiqui was seen upset with the industry’s lately. Nawazzudin has done wonders in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Bajrangi Bhaijan, Manjhi, HAramkhor etc. In a cryptic tweet, he has hinted at being discriminated on the basis of his skin colour.
“I am dark and not good looking”
- The 43-year-old actor, did not name anyone in his post but it seemed to be aimed at someone.
- “Thank you for making me realise that I cannot be paired along with the fair and handsome because I’m dark and not good looking, but I never focus on that,” Nawaz tweeted.
- The tweet appeared to be a response to “Babumoshai Bandookbaaz” casting director Sanjay Chouhan’s recent comments.
- Chouhan, in an interview to a daily, had apparently said that after Chitrangada Singh walked out of the film, they searched for a new female lead who would suit Nawazuddin’s look and personality.
- “We can’t cast fair and handsome people with Nawaz. It would look so weird. You have to take people with distinct features and personalities when pairing them with him,” he had reportedly said.
- The actor, however, did not share any further details regarding the incident which prompted him to write the post.
- Only last year, Nawazuddin had praised the film industry for giving priority to talent over good looks.
