One cannot decide which of his videos would go viral, says digital fame Ahmed Meeran
If you thought the world was a small place, Instagram has just made it smaller, and as a content creator, Ahmed Meeran would tell you, “Just keep putting content out there. You never know who is watching and when big things would happen for you.” His online fame has increased massively in the last few days. MBA at IIM Kashipur, Ahmed, who belongs to Port Blair, posts singing cover videos and roast & troll content primarily on his Instagram profile ‘ahmedmeeranoffl’. Ahmed says that his aim was to achieve 10k followers within a year while he started. Astonishingly his follower base has expanded to several lakhs on social media within the same one-year span.
Ahmed opens up about what he feels is the secret of successful content creation. He says ‘’one cannot decide which of his videos would go viral. There were times when I have had huge expectations from the reach of certain videos but the video, in contrary to that, failed to achieve big numbers. The only thing that should matter is consistency and innovative content. I keep researching the trends and create content accordingly’’.
‘’I got hooked to Instagram in early 2018. It’s so much easier to create an Instagram video as its duration in just a minute. The first cover I did like that was Pookkale Sattru Oyivedungal from the film ‘I’, which I posted on my facebook profile and it got a good response from my friends and later I got inspired by several youngsters who were already popular on Instagram and I posted the cover of ‘Visiri’ from ‘ENPT’ and ever since I have been regular’’ says Ahmed, who has also done quite a few successful YouTube mashup videos in collaboration with fellow popular you tubers.
While asked how he bumped into comedy content creation, Ahmed said ‘’ I had realized eventually that singing videos would become monotonous after a point. As my singing videos are not of a high production quality and I just record raw and post, I felt that people would get bored of just my singing after a point. Hence I started creating spoof videos for cult classic Tamil serial songs and troll videos for Bigg Boss Tamil 2. These contents gave my profile a very good boost. Right now I create tiktok roasts called ‘tiktok vaasigal’’, Bigg Boss trolls and covers as well. I am happy that everybody is loving it’’.
Asked what advice he will give all those potential content creators who are trying to be noticed on the social media site, and he has an answer down pat. “Don’t worry much about the numbers initially. Focus on the quality primarily. At the end of the day, if your content is unique and fresh, people will share it and it will eventually start getting more views”
