Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar, Farah Khan and Vikram Bhatt have expressed their sadness after a fire burnt down the iconic RK Films and Studios here on Saturday.
Here is what some of the celebrities tweeted:
- A major fire broke out in the studio in Chembur.
- It gutted one of the main shooting venues the set of dance reality TV show “Super Dancer Season 2”.
- The studio, founded by late actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor in 1948, was the venue for movies like”Jis Desh Me Ganga Behti Hain” (1960), “Mera Naam Joker” (1970),
- “Bobby” (1973), “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” (1978), “Prem Rog” (1982) and
- “Ram Teri Ganga Maili” (1985), which was the founder’s last film before his death in June 1988.

- The archival loss is truly sad for all RK lovers such as myself.
