The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju finally hit screens yesterday.
Being one of the most keenly anticipated releases of the year the Rajkumar Hirani directorial has been awaited with bated breath.
Opening day collections of Sanju
The film namely; Sanju Based on the life of controversial actor and Bollywood’s bad boy Sanjy Dutt the film saw a massive released in the domestic market.
In this box office analysis we take a look at the opening day collections of Sanju while comparing the same to all time highest opening day grossers. Collecting Rs. 34.75 cr Sanju has become the sixth highest all time opening day grosser managing to surpass previous releases like Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 34.10 cr, Chennai Express that collected Rs. 33.12 cr, Ek Tha Tiger that collected Rs. 32.93 cr, and Singham Returns that collected Rs. 32.09cr.
However, the business of Sanju does not manage to out beat the collections of other releases like Happy New Year that collected Rs. 44.97 cr, Bahubali-2 the Conclusion that collected Rs. 41 cr, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that collected Rs. 40.35 cr, Sultan that collected Rs. 36.54 cr, and Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 36.22 cr.
However, an interesting point to note is that while Sanju has become one of the few films that does not feature either Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan or Salman Khan to enter the top 10 all-time highest opening day grossers list, it is also one of the few releases to achieve this feat on a non-holiday weekend.
