Thalapathy Vijay turns a year older today. The actor has found himself amidst yet another controversy thanks to AR Murugadoss’ Sarkar poster…
Thalapathy Vijay celebrates his 44 today.
And even as his industry friends and fans are congratulating the actor.
Vijay finds himself amidst yet another controversy.
Vijay flayed for using cigarette as film ‘marketing strategy’
Former Union Minister for Health, Dr Anbumani Ramadoss has slammed the superstar for promoting tobacco through his latest film Sarkar poster.
For the uninitiated, Vijay launched his movie Sarkar poster yesterday.
The film directed by AR Murugadoss, with whom Vijay has delivered blockbusters like Thuppakki and Kaththi.
Ramadoss shamed the actor on social media and asked the superstar to be responsible.
The buzz around Sarkar started building up early this week.
By Wednesday when the makers suggested that they’d be unveiling the first look of their upcoming film a day prior to Vijay’s birthday fans went berserk.
And like most Vijay films, when the first look was out the actor’s die-hards declared the movie a mega hit.
This film will see actress Keerthy Suresh paired opposite the actor.
Anbumani Ramadoss during his reign as the Health minister had banned smoking on screen.
so we weren’t surprised by his Twitter status that took a jibe at the actor.
Ramadoss wrote on his micro-blogging page, “You’ll look more stylish without that cigarette.”
The ex-Health minister’s tweets…

Rajinikanth too was criticized by Ramadoss;
Just like Vijay Superstar Rajinikanth was also criticized by Ramadoss for movie Baba for smoking Beedi.
Vijay is not new to controversies too.
The actor was embroiled in a political last year when his film Mersal took jibe at the ruling government’s policies.
The actor’s dialogues in this film did not go down well with the BJP members who demanded a ban and an apology.
Fans stood by the actor, who only garnered more publicity for his movie at the end of this controversy.
Mersal became another blockbuster under the actor’s belt.
Vijay seems unperturbed by all the drama surrounding his movie’s first poster and unveiled a second one too.
The film is backed by DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s relative Kalanidhi Maran’s production house Sun Pictures.
