Shefali Shah will soon be seen in a short film “Juice”. She was spotted at the special screening of her upcoming “Juice”. While talking to media, actress Shefali expressed that script of Juice was liberating and fantastic.
She further added, “My Motivation was Neeraj Ghaywan. I wanted to work with him and when I heard the script I thought it was absolutely liberating and fantastic. The part is great but it is not just about Manju (the character in the film), it is about so many women from my generation to my mother’s generation, it’s just gets carried forward. That was my reason and above all, there were no reasons, I would have said No”.
The short film Juice features fantastic actors like Manish Chaudhari and Shefali Shah. The film is directed by “Masaan” famed Neeraj Ghaywan. The Film is produced by Large Short Films.
Shefali Shah doesn’t require any introduction, her talent speaks volumes for her and the latest outing, short film Juice is just another classic example of her sheer craft and impeccable direction. Shah made her film debut with Rangeela (1995), although she only had a few scenes in the film. She ventured into television with the serial Kabhie Kabhie.
During interaction with media said, “It is a fantastic and great film. He is brilliant director whom I respect and admire tremendously”.
Shefali also talked about the problem faced by elder actress in industry, she said that “Film Industry” doesn’t know what to do with the mature actress but things are changing slowly. She added, “It is not after marriage, it is after a certain age that suddenly women, I mean, they don’t know what to do with an actress. So either you’re 18 or 20 heroine of the film or you’re cut directly to the mother of some 30 years old. They don’t know what to do with actors in between, which is really sad. I don’t think it has to with marriage or role-playing as such, but I just think it is much bigger and wider discrepancy which is really sad”.
She said that now the “women centric” films are changing the scenario of Bollywood. Shefali has also worked with Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Farhan Akhtar.
“There are fantastic roles written about women now, I have to say, I mean, I have to admit that yes it is changing. I mean there are roles for Vidya Balan, there are movies like Lipstick Under my Burkha or Pink, so there are films which are women-oriented”. she added further.
Juice also stars Manish Chaudhari and was released on YouTube on November 22.
