Aahana Kumra,along with other celebrities ,was present at the success party for Lipstick under My Burkha on Thursday. She said our small film has become really big.

- Aahana who play one of the leads in the film spoke about the film’s success, “Our small film has become really big.
- I think that speaks a lot. When I went to the mall and didn’t expect anyone to know me,
- I met a few girls in a store and they just came up to me and said, ‘you were so good in the film’.
- So I think that appreciation feels good. When as an actor your work gets appreciated,

- and something that you a really stand for is supported by others, it feels great.
- I think a lot of women have really up the film, this isn’t our film anymore this is everyone’s film.”
- Lipstick under my Burkha had been surrounded by controversies since the start, due to its plot, Censor board and release date in India.
- The film has traveled across 35 countries and received 11 awards.

- When asked if controversy made the film a success Aahana said,
- “If the film wasn’t good I don’t think this controversy would have happened.
- I remember everyone calling me up and saying that everyone is talking a lot about the film it better live up to the hype.
- When we went to watch the movie first, you won’t believe it,
- I have seen such responses in Salman Khan’s screening.”
- Ekta Kapoor, who backed the film and released it,
- was also present at the success party spoke about the film’s journey and success.
- She said, “It has been a tough journey for everyone, from the director to the production house even the censor board.
- But for us it was about, if it doesn’t collect on box office then more films like this won’t be made in future.
- So I am so happy that it has been a financial and creative success.”
- Lipstick Under My Burkha is a black comedy written and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava.
- The film cast included Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur in lead roles.
- The film was released on 21st July.
