“It is a risky subject” says Akshay Kumar about the concept and subject of his upcoming movie, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, during his recent media interaction.

Releasing in 3200-3500 theaters across India.
- Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher starrer “Toilet Ek Prem Katha”is based on real life incidents, which involves Sanitation issue, where married women walked about due to lack of Toilets in house.
- “It is a risky subject, to talk about Toilet and love story, on top of that movie was
- earlier titled Sandash Ek Prem Katha, I found it very intriguing and I liked the fact that it was a real story.

- Things like this actually have happened, a married woman asked for divorce because there was no toilet.
- It was big step for someone from village.
- I found it very amazing how women did something like this” said Akshay Kumar.
- Toilet Ek Prem Katha talks about sanitation and open defecation, the lack of toilets in rural India, the mere statistics are staggering.
- Actor also pointed that he is not sure whether people will like the film or not,
- but he is certain movie will change the perception about the sanitation issue.
- “I don’t know about the larger audience but surely the movie release in 3200-3500 theaters across India.

- “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” is directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
- The film is written by Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal.
- The film has some similarity with an original event in which a 19-year old Priyanka Bharti
- ran away from her husband’s home in 2012, when there was no toilet.
- The movie releases on 11th August.
