Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju is receiving good remarks and have marked it as a superhit till now.
Vicky Kaushal is also getting postive response from the audience and critics, as he has played the charcter of Sanjay Dutt’s best friend Kamli in the film.
Recently during an interview with a media house, Vicky Kaushal revealed some details about his character Kamli.
Kamli is an amalgamation of three to four friends: Vicky Kaushal
Sanju is a powerful and an immense look to the controversial and interesting life of bollywood star Sanjay Dutt.
Director Rajkumar Hirani did a tremendous job.
Sanjay Dutt’s relations with his Father (played by Paresh Rawal), Mother (played by Manisha Koirala), and Best Friend (played by Vicky Kaushal) is just incredible in the film.
Though it was not clearly shown in the film that which best friend’s character is being played by Vicky Kaushal, but Vicky told that Kamli is based on Paresh Ghelani.
Vicky revealed to the media “I play a Gujarati fellow Kamlesh Kanhaiyalal Kapasi. The character is an amalgamation of three or four of Sanjay Dutt’s closest friends in real life but primarily the character is based on Paresh Ghelani who is based in the US. He lives and works there.”

He said “Shooting for Sanju was an incredible process. Firstly, for me, it was a dream come true to be working with Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor in the same film. These are the two people I admire, respect and adore.
He further added “Also, while working I realised they are beautiful human beings. So, it was an amazing and a learning experience. Also, it was amazing to know Sanju sir’s life so personally by being a part of the film.”
Vicky is currently busy with his next film ‘Uri’ opposite Yami Gautam.
