Lok Sabha Election 2019: The highest amount of cash, jewellery and liquor has been recovered from Mumbai since the Model Code of Conduct

 

Mumbai, April 3: The highest amount of cash, jewellery and liquor has been recovered from Mumbai since the Model Code of Conduct was put in place by the Election Commission of India on March 10, 2019.

 

Mumbai is followed in the list by the suburban district, Thane, Nagpur and Beed in Maharashtra as reported by a Media Houes.

 

The Maharashtra state election commission data shows that since March 10 to until now, more than Rs 77.50 crore has been seized, out of which Mumbai alone accounted for Rs 37.40 crore including cash, liquor and gold seized.

 

In Mumbai suburban areas, seizures worth Rs 14 crore were made by the Police.

 

The amount seized in Thane and Nagpur have been Rs 3.9 crore and Rs 2.7 crore respectively.

 

Whereas Rs 1.9 crore has been seized from Beed district.

 

The value of gold and silver seized from Mumbai is worth Rs 30 crore, and cash Rs 7 crore.

The report also mentioned that Rs 1.3 crore was seized from Chandrapur, which is Maharashtra state finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar’s hometown.

A large quantity of drugs was also seized from Thane and Palghar district. Kolhapur, Solapur, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Akola and Pune are other areas from where cash has been seized, said reports.

 

The Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will take place in Phases 1,2,3 and 4 from April 11 to April 29.

While voting in Maharashtra for General Elections will be held on April 11, April 18, April 23 and April 29, the counting of votes will be held on May 23.
