आजादी के बाद से लेकर वर्ष 2014 तक के चुनाव में अलीगढ़ संसदीय क्षेत्र ( Aligarh Lok Sabha ) का प्रतिनिधित्व सात बार महिलाओं द्वारा किया गया है।

आजादी के बाद पहली बार वर्ष 1980 में जनता पार्टी की एस इंद्रा कुमारी सांसद निर्वाचित हुईं थीं। 1984 में कांग्रेस की ऊषा रानी तोमर निर्वाचित हुई। 1991, 1996, 1998 और 1999 में लगातार चार बार भाजपा की शीला गौतम निर्वाचित हुईं और संसद में अलीगढ़ का प्रतिनिधित्व किया। इसके बाद 2009 में बसपा की राजकुमारी चौहान निर्वाचित हुईं। रामसखी कठेरिया और ज्ञानवती विधायक बनीं।
