Sonali Bendre was interacting with Media during the trailer launch of web-series The Broken News.
The Broken News mark Sonali Bendre’s OTT Debut, so we asked her about what led her to pick the project, and she said, “There have been various stints that came my way, touch wood, I have been lucky that way, but the thing is, I am grateful for the career that I have had, and it has been because of the way I look and I am thankful for that, but after a while as an actor, one starts to feel if I could beyond this image of mine, as there is more to me”
“And somewhere I felt that I wasn’t getting that across, after having my child and taking the break, I wanted to come back to the fiction genre, but I wanted to comeback with something different, not something which I had done in past, I think I have evolved as a person, and I wanted that to come across with the kind of work I did”
“The Broken News ticked a lot of yeses for me, the character has a strong voice, the story has certain meaning, and it means something for the world also, and it is within the age bracket, as I wanted to play my age. I wanted the liberation of playing my age on screen”
“And above all, the people that you work with is really important as well, and I had the best team one could ask for, so because of all those reasons, I said yes to my OTT debut” added Sonali.
The show also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Taaruk Raina, Indraneil Sengupta, Faisal Rashid, Kiran Kumar, Aakash Khurana and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.
