Assam Association organized a Rongali or Bohag Bihu, which is also known as the Assamese New Year on 22nd April at Dilkusha Garden,Lucknow.It was like a small Assam state came in Lucknow.
Celebration:
- Songs related to Bihu made the moment memorable.
- Youth were wearing traditional dresses.
- Several dance performances were performed.
- In addition,different kinds of dishes were there.
- Like Dahi-Chira,peetha,Ladoo etc.
- People enjoyed a lot.
Bihu:
- Bihu is mainly a harvest festival, wherein the farmers thank the lord for the successful harvest and welcome the spring season.
- One of the most important festivals of Assam.
- Bihu is celebrated three times a year.
- The three sets of festivals include Bhogali or Magh Bihu celebrated in January.
- In addition,Rongali or Bohag Bihu, which is also the Assamese New Year in April.
- Furthermore, Kongali or Kati Bihu, reflecting a season of short supplies in the month of October.
