The 17th of November has been marked worldwide as the International Students’ Day. Avadh Girls’PG College tries to make the students realise and understand the importance of the democratic education and a democratic society by organising various events.
The day was first marked in London in 1941 by the International Student Council. Students are the building blocks of any nation.It is a celebration for student community across the world. Department of English and Geography in collaboration with IQAC at Avadh Girls P.G College.
Competitions like creative writing,Slogan writing,poster making,collage making were held. The week was lined with many interesting seminars ,talks and special lectures. A talk titled “Journalism and Mass Media” by the college alumna,Swati Chaurasia,journalist at Aaj Tak , a poetry workshop by an eminent contemporary poet,Amit Dahiyabadshah and a special lecture by Dr.Kashif Imdad on “Climate Change and Extreme Events: Challenges in 21st Century” were the highlights. Students’ Seminar in the Departments of Education,English,Geography,Anthropology and Commerce were also conducted.
