Who doesn’t love Chinese food? We all do, and when it comes to authentic Chinese food we always trust on someone who is an expert. Fairfield by Marriott Lucknow is hosting a 10 day long Chinese food fest by Chef. John Qiao from shangai who is currently working at Westin, New Delhi. With over 26 years of experience in the industry. He specializes in Chinese and asian cuisines and worked in shanghai as well.
China is home to a breathtaking multitude of cultures and cuisines, which also produces an unparalleled variety of regional specialties when it comes to food. Chinese cuisine has influenced many other cuisines in Asia, with modifications made to cater to local palates.
Color, smell and taste are the three traditional aspects used to describe Chinese food, as well as the meaning, appearance and nutrition of the food. Cooking should be appraised from ingredients used, cuttings, cooking time and seasoning.

- Difference between Indian Chinese & Authentic Chinese food : The main difference between Indian chinese & Chinese food is vegetables. Authentic Chinese cuisine uses a lot of watercress, broccoli, bok choy and water chestnuts from what I have observed. Indian Chinese uses carrots, potatoes, baby corn, cauliflower and capsicums.
- No to Oil: Indian Chinese food is hot, spicy and saucy. Whereas Chinese food of China is less spicy, less oily.
- Less spices : When it comes to Indian food its spicy basically because in India we have many more spices which grows around and we use them everywhere, but Chinese cuisine have main ingredient which is soy sauce they use in every dish to accentuate the flavor.
- No or less Salt : As mentioned above that main ingredient in Chinese cuisine is Soya sauce, they use soy instead of salt to get the salty flavor ; (as told by chef)
The food fest open for all from 7.30 pm to 11.30 pm every evening from 6th to 15th October priced at 799/- (Plus taxes)
