Story behind Chappan Bhog:
- It is said that once, to save the people from the outbreak of heavy rain (Lord Indra) in their village.
- Shri Krishna lifted the Govardhan mountain on his junior finger.
- All the villagers took place under Govardhan mountain.
- For seven consecutive days, Shri Krishna kept the Govardhan mountain on his finger, in the end Lord Indra realized his mistake.
- Lord Krishna used to eat eight kinds of food every day, but for seven days, he did not eat anything.
- Therefore, after seven days, every resident of the village brought a 56-like (eight times seven) dish for the manifestation of unarmed.
Chappan Bhog:
- It is said that in Chappan Bhog, there are the some dishes which were meant to Lord Shrikrishna.
- Usually it includes things like cereals, fruits, dry fruits, sweets, drinks, snacks and pickles.
