Read the unspoken minds of Indian Women at “Laadli” 

Rangoli Garg inaugurated her Exhibition “LAADLI” at Kala srot art gallary in the presence of prominent art lovers and artist of Lucknow. The Exhibition is more of a home coming for Rangoli as she belongs to Lucknow.

“Laadli” is Rangoli’s passion translated on canvas. Her paintings are detailed sketches of the beautiful Indian girls.

Depiction of Indian women:

This series of paintings depict a shy, doe-eyed, attractive Indian girl who dreams in her eyes. She dreams of a world beyond her present existence. There is a hope and an aspiration to cross the boundaries and travel into the light. she is optimistic and aspires to achieve.

There is an urge to usher the thoughts of her unspoken mind. The background of the paintings are ornate with some fragmented alphabets, flowers and musical notes, trying to give life to the hidden dreams of women.

A plethora of emotions, flow through her mind, as she dreams. It is this moment and experience that the artist tries to capture on the canvas. The girl smiles as her face look expectant with various moods and feelings that flow on the canvas with the scents of the evolving flowers.

In some paintings, Rangoli has depicted girls and women in the various stages of their lives e.g. childhood, adolescence, marriage etc. Artist’s fascination to depict girl and their life scenes is what the series is all about. The Indian women strives and moves on the journey of her dreams and this becomes her path work portrays a transition from the traditional to a modern India. The canvases dialogue with the onlooker, with the intensity of narration of an Indian tale.

Rangoli Garg is a self taught artist, who belongs to Lucknow, and is now settled in Hydrabad for around ten years.She did her Post Graduation in Business Administration from Lucknow. Her passion for colours and her desire to potray Indian women, helped her to move on her journey as an artist. She has done more Solo and Group shows in India and abroad.
