Project KHEL is a Lucknow based non-profit organisation that works towards empowering adolescents, paving the way to a more equal and inclusive society. They are organizing Lucknow’s first ever Ultimate Frisbee tournament – LUO ’17 – along with the sixth edition of the Global Peace Games in Lucknow on 28th and 29th October at La Martiniere College, Lucknow (Polo Grounds) .

The LUO 2017:
- Participation by teams from various states such Bihar, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
- Including teams from Ashoka University and IIM Lucknow.
- Teams came together to play this unique sport which is soon to be recognized as an Olympic sport (more on Ultimate Frisbee below).
- The Global Peace Games 2017, held along with the tournament at the same venue.

- They are encouraging 100+ players from the participating teams of LUO from different states (Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, UP).
- Including teams from institutions such as Ashoka University and IIM-Lucknow.
- In addition, to teach the sport among 100+ underprivileged children of Lucknow.
- From shelter homes, slums, after school programmes and low-income schools.
About the Global Peace Games:
- An initiative that was founded in 2001.
- To promote a global network of children and youth committed to a culture of friendship, understanding and peace.
- The Global Peace Games are “grass roots” games that take place.
- And are organized by organizations and communities around the world.
- The Games are linked by common themes and encourage children and youth to share.
- Furthermore,celebrate the values and skills they learn on the playing field through sport.
- Furthermore, to find peaceful solutions in their daily lives and communities.
- The Games take place in the fall of each year at locally scheduled dates around the time of the United Nations International Day of Peace.
- In addition,with the support of bodies such as UNESCO, FIFA and Play Soccer.
