Some women fear the fire, some simply become fire…And Pratiksha Chauhan is one of those women. The 27 year old author from Lucknow with her simple yet not-so-common vision had earned yet another feather for her cap.
Pratiksha, who has been into social work from more than 8 years, was recently awarded by the Bihar Government for her motivational and inspiring work in her novel “Is This What Life Is?” . The stories in her novel are all based on true events.
Awarded by the Bihar Government :
- Pratiksha has been awarded with the Ahhilya Rani Award/Rani Laxmi Bai Award on 28 August.
- She earned the award in Women Empowerment category.
- No wonders she bagged the award for her book Is this what life is ?
- Her book deals with the status of women in our society and the day to day discrimination they had to face.
- But with a message for all the ladies to never give up and never be afraid of doing the things they love.
- The book is a bunch of stories and series of stories like journey of her name , Facebook crushes and selfies.
- Pratiksha has done magic in presenting expressions and inspiring women with her words.
- She has been awarded for this book several times.
- From Young Leader award, Youth Leader, Change maker award , Women achiever award, Vivekanand award and many more ,Pratiksha has all in her bag !
- She has always been an hardworking lady with a vision.
- Currently she is preparing to launch her 2nd book on October 25 named Another Girl From Countryside, a story from international to national versions.
- This time , she will be presenting love stories. Not just typical love stories,covering stories from inetr-caste love marriages to inter-region and inter-country !
- The story will also cover aspects of the third gender and their experiences in love.

- Pratiksha has Completed her Masters in Journalism and mass communication from Maharana Institute of Communication Studies.
- Currently she is working as a Consultant in State Council of Educational Research & Council, Lucknow.
- She has been into social work since 2009 .
- She has worked in many fields like as a guest speaker for IBN7 for discussions on serious issues.
- Furthermore she has worked as a volunteer, fashion and travel writer, content writer as well as a copywriter.
- Pratiksha has always been into social work.
- She has also judged talent shows and taught unprivileged kids at Sarthak foundation.
- Furthermore, she is going to be part of Women Without Borders event on 2 September at Sheroes Hangout .
