Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti is celebrated on October 2 every year. His birthday coincides with that of Mahatma Gandhi. Most people know only about Gandhi Jayanti on this day. However, it is fit to mention that both the two great heroes born on this day dedicated their lives to the larger cause of the nation. Various schools celebrated the day in their own way.
Celebration at St. Joseph Inter College:
- Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shashtri was celebrated at St. Joseph Inter College, Thakurganj
- On 2nd October 2017, the occasion was celebrated with much pomp and pride.
- The program started with a peech by Founder Chairperson of the St. Joseph Group of Institutions Smt. Pushplata Agarwal ,
- who in additon, addressed the teachers and students, highlighting the sacrifice of the two leaders.
- It was then followed by patriotic songs and a skit presented by the students.
- The theme of the skit was the message of cleanliness (Swatcch Bharat Abhiyaan) given by Mahatma Gandhi himself.
- The Managing Director of the school Mr. Rajesh Agrawal and Mrs. Seema Agrawal congratulated the students and teachers on this occasion.
- Furthermore, they also encouraged all to walk on the footprints of the great leaders.
- The program ended with a vote of thanks given by the Principal of the school Ms. R. Tandon.
