The Tripura CM has faced severe backlash for saying Diana is not ‘worthy’ of the crown.
He also compared Diana to actress and Miss World 1994 Aishwarya Rai Bachchan by saying that while the latter is a ‘beautiful Indian woman’, the former does not represent the idea of ‘Indian beauty’. Biplab Deb’s controversial remarks against Diana Hayden and the concept of ‘beauty’ have caused a massive outrage across the nation.
While speaking in an interview, Diana Hayden hit back at the Tripura CM and criticised him for his shameful remarks.

‘Clearly CM @BjpBiplab does not either realise or care about the impact of frivolous comments. Had he got down to the boring task of governing #Tripura instead of leaving it to #babus, he’d have had no time to faff around. This is how power is surrendered (sic),’ noted columnist Kanchan Gupta said.
Someone should tell the Tripura CM Biplab Deb to do some duty instead of boo some beauty.

This is not the first time Biplab Deb has made headlines for his bizarre remarks.
Earlier he had spoken about Indian history and had said that there were satellites and internet during the times of Mahabharata.
