Arjun Rampal and Aishwarya Rajesh is on a promotional spree for their upcoming film Daddy. Arjun and Aishwarya talked about their film in media interaction on Wednesday in Mumbai. During media interaction, Arjun stated that he want to show this film to Mega star Amitabh Bachchan.
Not a typical movie
- Arjun and Mr. Bachchan have worked together in films like Aankhein, Ek Ajnabee and Satyagraha.
- Arjun shares great equation with Amitabh Bachchan, so when asked Arjun to whom he wants to show this film, Arjun replied,
- “There are many actors to whom I want to show this film but particularly, I want to show this
- film to Amitabh Bachchan as I want to know his reaction about our film”.
- When asked Arjun whether is any kind of expectation and nervousness with this film, Arjun said,
- “We have been working in films from so many years so I feel you can expect certain kind of expectation from the audience.
- When audience has expectation from you then automatically there will be responsibility on you to make a good film.”
- “Our film is different. We haven’t made a typical film so this also gives us nervous feeling when we
- think about whether audience will be able to connect with this film or not but I feel audience will like the film.”
- When asked whether there were any apprehensions while doing unusual film like this, Arjun said,
- “There is risk involved in every film. If there were any no risk film which is able to collect 100 0r 200 crores
- at the box-office then everybody will make that kind of films only. Films are not just made for
- the box-office but for audience as well. We have made effort that Arun Gawali and his family
- should like this film and our entire team should also like the film because when there will be
- satisfaction about the film in the team then only you should release the film.
Showing truth instead of glorification
- When asked Arjun whether this film glorifies work of Arun Gawli that he carried over the years, Arjun said,
- “We are not glorifying him. We are just showing the truth. All the gangsters of India ran away
- but he is the only one who didn’t ran so that was the inspiration point of the film otherwise
- it would have been same gangster film where we would have shot the film in Dubai and France etc.
- but he was from this city and he was well connected with local people and later he joined politics
- and won election as well so how and why all this happened with him is the story of our film”
- “On humanity level, you will emphasize with this character as well because he is human being as well.
- He still thinks that he is not-guilty and we have shown this part in film’s trailer as well”.
- Daddy is biopic on Mumbai’s gangster turn politician Arun Gawli who was active in Mumbai in 1980s and 1990s.
- Furthermore, Daddy is directed by Ashim Ahluwalia and is releasing on 8 September.
