Anjali Phougat marveled all with her Designer Dream Collection outfits & jewelry at The Unchained Ohio State University Fashion Show.
The Unchained Ohio State University Fashion Show is all about telling the story of a survivor of human trafficking through the arts and raising money for a scholarship fund. A lot has already been spoken about the successes of people from across industries worldwide, but a few among them still stand tall and unique from others. Wondering why? Because they are made out of strong self-belief, conviction, and pure passion for adding more value to the lives of others through all that they choose to do in their careers and lives. Anjali Phougat serves as one of the finest examples of one such incredible human and a pure fashion talent who has spellbound people all over the world with her genius in fashion and her South Asian Luxury Brand Designer Dream Collection. She is more than excited for show called the Unchained OSU Fashion Show on March 5th, held at Columbus, OH, the US.
She is thankful to shiva Induri, Shrishti Shrivastva and Hannah Mayle and ecstatic with the response the fashion show has already received as the show got fully sold out. What made her a part of it was the fact that it aimed at telling a story of a survivor of human trafficking through the power of arts and also would raise money for a scholarship fund. The garments at the show are designed by her brand, Designer Dream Collection, and Hannah Ferguson. Talking more about her designs at the show, the ace celebrity designer and couturier says that she has designed outfits keeping in mind the theme of the show, which revolves around three key stages Innocence, Violence, and Restoration, showcasing the journey of survivors from being innocent beings, facing violence and then restoring their lives.
Around the three themes, Anjali Phougat highlights that she worked around them with students through 3-4 months and planned everything to the perfection to get it done beautifully. The first theme is Innocence, where she explains that they have used light pastel colours, floral prints, and colours to showcase their joy and natural innocent traits. With the second theme, Violence, they have used dark jewelry and designs, and lastly, for Restoration, they have used bright jewelry, bright gems, bling, Indian and happy themes, showcasing how they revive their lives.
These stories at the Unchained OSU Fashion Show are told using garments, music, facts, and poetic narration. The event involves partnering with various students and community members for putting on the show using them as models and volunteers. The fashion show’s aim is to increase awareness of human trafficking locally and globally and empowering models, volunteers, and attendees with the right education, training, and several tools to identify and report the crime and also join the abolitionist movement. Not just that, they are also raising funds for the Strategies for Success Scholarship Fund, which helps women survivors of human trafficking in pursuing higher education.
Anjali Phougat is thankful to unchained team and Arunita Ghosh for assisting her in getting models ready for the show.
Anjali Phougat feels proud she could be a part of something as thoughtful and incredible as this particular fashion show and aims to be a part of many such great events even in the future.
